About the data
What's on the work board, where it comes from, and how much to trust it.
Where it comes from
Wages, benefits, book numbers and job calls are published by each local through its job line, website and dispatch postings, and passed along by members. We collect that public information, organize it into one format, and write the summaries ourselves.
How current it is
The board was last built on October 25, 2026. Each local shows the date its information applies to, and anything more than 30 days old is marked as possibly out of date. Calls fill fast, so always call the hall before you travel.
Coverage
It covers 262 inside locals in all 50 states and DC: every local on the IBEW’s inside jurisdiction maps. Each local page shows its IBEW map. Wages, books and calls come from the local’s own public postings where there are any, including the online dispatch systems many halls use. When a local posts no wages, we show the rate it has on file with the U.S. Department of Labor for federal (Davis-Bacon) projects, marked “Federal record” with its effective date; those often trail the current agreement by a year. Members can fill in the rest with Report a change.
Member updates and privacy
Members can report a new scale, book number or call count from any local's page. You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name, email, card number, employer or job site.
To count each update once, your browser keeps a random code that isn't tied to you or your phone. We scramble it before storing it. We also keep a scrambled code for the network you're on (never the address itself) so one person can't pose as a crowd, and we erase that after a few weeks. A short Cloudflare bot check runs when you send an update. Updates can only be sent from inside the United States.
Nothing changes on one person's word. A number shows only after several members on different networks agree over at least half a day, and it shows next to the hall's own figure, never in place of it. If enough members say a number looks wrong, it's flagged and then taken down unless someone confirms it.
The same goes for “I took this call”, “Filled or gone?” and suggesting a missing local. A suggestion asks for the hall’s number and city, never yours.
Alerts use your browser’s own notifications. To send them we keep the address your browser’s push service gives us and the list of locals you follow, nothing else. Turn them off any time in My stuff, and the address is deleted.
Page views are counted without cookies or IP addresses, and not at all if your browser asks not to be tracked.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, tap Report a change at the top of the local’s page. If a call is filled, tap Filled or gone? on it. If your local isn’t listed, use Suggest your local on the Locals page. The member guide walks through each one.
What the terms mean
- Book 1, Book 2
- Out-of-work lists. Book 1 is for qualified journeymen who've worked in that local's area recently, usually its own members. Travelers usually sign Book 2. Shorter books mean work is moving. Each local's referral rules spell out the details.
- Inside, CW / CE, Teledata
- Inside journeyman wireman calls; construction wireman and construction electrician calls; and teledata or VDV installer calls.
- Scale
- The journeyman inside wireman's hourly wage. Some locals have zones with different rates.
- OT at double time
- The contractor pays all overtime at twice the straight-time rate, usually as an incentive.
- Per diem
- A daily allowance some contractors pay travelers for living expenses.
